Eternal Love - Till Death do us part - Then I'll be seeing you again

This is a story in pictures dedicated to my gorgeous grandparents
 with some of their favourite music thrown in for you to enjoy while you read

Lets start the story Remembering their parents ..Nellie & Albert.. my Great Grandparents!

And here is my Grandad Albert John known as Jack as a tot looking a real cutie


 And here again being made to pose for the camera with his mum and not looking too amused.. my son actually looks just like my grandad at this age..

This young lady always made certain she would be outside cleaning the front door steps of the house she was in service in, Just to make sure she didnt miss the Handsome young Milkman Jack on his rounds!!



" Every day when i was delivering milk from the local dairy to the house where she was in service near Rusthall Common Tunbridge Wells. Every day when i arrived she used to make sure she was cleaning the step and we'd stop for a talk "

Mr Twort recalled

" It was love at first sight, and i never wanted anybody else "



                                      Mrs Twort chuckled at her wiles that proved succesful.

                                    " I Took to him straight away and i would
                                                 do it again "

                                                                            she said





The attractive young couple in love courted for 4 years, riding out on the young Jack's HAS 1932 Motorbike, before Marrying at the age of 21

On their wedding day posing with Bridesmaid Joyce & Best man Fred.. Doris was given away by her Brother in law Chris 

Jack then joined the 15th scottish division of the RASC early in 1940 serving in Europe as a motorcycle rider & organising the transport of casualties by ambulance



The young couple had their first of 3 children John their eldest son who was born at their home during an air raid

soon to be followed by their Daughter Jacqueline and son Jeffery


Here Jack gives his beautiful daughter Jacqueline away on her wedding day full of love and pride for his darling girl




The years roll by and here is still a couple very much in love and devoted to each other


A family Christmas ( my grandad would always wear a christmas hat ) a picture of me by my grandparents side .. they had 9 grandchildren including me Andrew Lindsay Scott Stuart Tracey Sharon Vicki Jemma & Jack and 7 Great grand children by this point


Grandma was a fab cook and i have a recipe box with some recipe cards of hers which include Bacon rolly polly and Hop picking pie!
 my grandad loved his gameshows and card games and had the best chuckle :)


And this is them Celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary
A beautiful love story for a beautiful couple sorely missed but never forgotten

  2. It's wonderful to have such a family history in photos. I bet you treasure them deeply:-) I always wonder the antique stores and look at old photos just wondering who they were and what they're story was.

  3. Genealogy is one of my biggest passions in life, and while I do of course adore researching and trying to find image of my own relatives, I enjoy seeing and learning about other peoples' a great deal too, so this post really struck a cord with me.
